August 21, 2010*
The night before mixed martial artist *Jeff Harrison* faced his seventh professional fight he popped the question. ”She said yes,” the 29-year-old Stratford, Ont., native announced to a cheering crowd of 1,000 at the Hilton Lac-Leamy on Friday night, after his first-round victory in the third of eight bouts at *Bad Intentions*, a WreckMMA event.
“There was no way I was going to lose.” *Harrison (3-4)* finished with a swollen right eye in stopping stocky MMA newcomer *Kyle Vivian (0-1)* of Orillia at 4:41 with a triangle choke. ”I used to be pretty, I swear,” Harrison deadpanned to the crowd. The event raised more than one tonne of food for the Ottawa Food Bank.
